* Bon takes off a tiny microeconomics hat, and puts on a giant macroeconomics hat that covers his face.
From the demand-side view, it's a great idea to make sure the economy doesn't get stuck in a rut and to speed us through any recession. I'm not usually a big fan of Keynesian policies because I'm a biased weirdo, but if they don't go overboard then yeah, it's probably a good idea. I also like the "let's send people cheques!" plan way more than the "let's increase our spending and start subsidizing things!" stuff Canada does.
As for preventing the expansion of a wider crisis... I'm too dumb to guess what that crisis is so I don't have an opinion on that lol.
