Community Alert How-To: Get Discord User ID & Check For Invisible Characters

Introduction

Each Discord User has a unique multi-digit number, that number is unique to the account just like a social security number.

It looks like this: 190958349599244290

While you can use Discord entirely without knowing any of these ID numbers, some circumstances may arise

 where you need to get one, just in case. Here are the steps to find any of those! You can even include your ID along  your discord username in your signature.

In this short guide I will also add a character checker that will determine if the person you are talking to has used any special characters.

  

**This can also be used in Deal-Disputes to prove you were talking to the the real person and not an impersonator. And vice versa.

How-To

Enable Developer Mode

Simply right click on the user you want to get their ID

and press copy ID! That's it.

Extra Precaution

By using invisible/special character a scammer can make it look like they have the exact same

username & discriminator number as the person you are dealing with, it's always important to take another

precaution by running their username through a Character Checker that will determine if there's something weird going on.

If you are logged through the web-client you can directly open a users 
profile through an ID. This can be done by combing this URL + ID.

This URL will open my profile meaning you do not need to worry about talking 
to an impersonator. 

Please note that you need to have the use added or in a mutual server!

What Is It Good For?

You can confirm Discord ID on-site with he person you are dealing with to

make sure it's them and not an impersonator! 

Can A Discord ID Change?

No. Even if the username or the discriminator number has changed, the user ID remains the same.

Can I Get User ID From Mobile?

Yes, you can, exactly the same way.
