I usually prefer torrents, since the quality's pretty nice. If you're keeping up with a series, you can always use RSS feeds. The main downsides would be the storage space required, and the time it takes to download the episodes. There is also this program called Spicyroll which is supposed to torrent & stream anime from HorribleSubs, but I've never used it myself: https://github.com/NotZoeyDev/Spicyroll.
