i like the structural integrity of waffles but something about soft pillowy cakes does it for me. Hard to say since they both have an infinite amount of combos. For now i'd have to say that waffles are my choice since they aren't really that floppy and i can hold it like a hot pocket.

Pancakes. The recesses in the waffles keep butter(I don't like eating clumps of butter), and it keeps syrup inside. The syrup makes the waffle soggy and it becomes gross. Pancakes all day baby!
