I got into the guitar yesterday, since I have one now, and it's an instrument I've wanted to get under my belt for a while.
My knowledge of the violin has transferred pretty well. After tuning it and playing a few scales (which took a bit since I had to get a feel for the instrument), I was able to pluck out some basic melodies without too many mistakes. Once I get a better feel for the notes, I plan on trying out some chords.
Anyway, does anybody have advice for learning this instrument? Also, is it worth learning how to read tablature or should I just go by the sheet music?
