Are Giveaways Effective On Instagram?

I am considering trying a gift card giveaway on my private 40k meme page to grow my audience. Has anyone tried this and if so, how were the results?

The rules in the caption would be they would have to comment and @ 3 friends. These friends need to be non-followers who need to follow me (I won't actually know if they didn't previously, but I'll just say that).

Giveaways always work just depends on how smart you are with them and if you know how to maximize growth but I personally wouldn't do this on a meme page don't feel like it would fit it that well at all your probably better off buying story posts ect

waste of time, you can get atleast 100x better results buying promos with that money, pretty much no one is going to enter a random memepages giftcard giveaway no matter if you give away 500$ or 10k$

if your page is private and people tag someone in your post it wont do shit so the whole giveaway would be 100% useless just because of that too

True, thanks for the advice. The idea sparked up because I have Amazon Gift Cards that I don't plan on using but I don't want to go to waste.

You should ask people to screenshot your page and share on their story and tag three friends there to enter.
Also mention that giveaway is only for people who follow you, so their friends will follow you and share it on their story too, and from there it's a snowball effect.
